Are theaters allotted only for big budget films?

The Theatre Owners’ Association Joint Secretary Trichy Sridhar has condemned director Thangar Bachan for erroneously complaining against the theatre owners for refusing to allot theatres for small budget films.

He has said that 162 films have been released this year irrespective of the fact that they are big or small budget films. Sridhar also pointed out big budget films like Thandavam and Maatraan failed at the box office while several small budget films have sustained for a long time. This proves that theatres are allocated irrespective of fact they are small and big budget films, he added.
