Reason for expectations: Vikram does not want to leave his entertainment roots and so he has come back to entertain with Rajapattai. Rajapattai has Vikram as Anal Murugan, a typical carefree soul from the annals of Chennai, fighting it out against the real estate mafia. Yes, the movie has political shades to it according to its director Suseenthiran. Suseenthiran, after directing about three heavy weight movies, decides to take the tried and tested commercial route with Rajapattai.

Rajapattai is produced by Prasad for PVP productions. This is his maiden production venture and the movie has cost him about 40 crores so far. Rajapattai has Deeksha Seth playing Vikram female lead. It also has veteran Telugu actor K Viswanath, Thambi Ramiah and Pradeep Rawat in significant roles. Shriya and Reema Sen are also making special appearances in the movie. 

Yuvan scores music for Rajapattai and the album's 5 songs are already gaining popularity in the charts. The movie is finished in a record time of 3 months, excluding post-production works. A Telugu version, titled Veedinthe, is also being readied to be released after a week of Rajapattai's release.

Audiences: According to director Suseenthiran, Rajapattai will be enjoyable and liked not only by Vikram fans but also by movie buffs from all walks of the society. He has left no stones unturned to ensure entertainment in the movie. The movie is only 2 hours long and Suseenthiran says it only makes sense not to prolong an entertainemnt anywhere beyond 2 hours.
