Reason for expectations: This being the love season and all, Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal, a movie that derives its title from one of the hit songs of yesteryear, is hitting the screens. Said to be a romantic thriller, MUK is directed by Elred Kumar, and tells the story of a man and his obsession with one girl. The movie has Atharvaa and Amala Paul in the lead. This also happens to be Amala Paul's second film to be released in the same week, the other one being the Siddharth starrer Kaadhalil Sothappuvadu Eppadi.

In a recent interview to a website, Atharvaa revealed that he knew this was going to be a special film when the director narrated the story to him. The racy story is mostly shot in the US and focuses on two young people who work together, fall in love. Most part of the shooting happened in Chennai, Bangalore, New York and Kerala. Las Vegas also was a prominent shoot spot for the movie where the song 'Oru Murai' was shot. Grand Canyon was also one of the shoot locations for the movie.

G V Prakash scores for the movie that has its songs scored by china. Director Elred Kumar is also the producer of the film. Zaved, who played the villain in Hangover 2 also plays the villain here.

Atharvaa is pinning his hopes high on the movie's success since this will be a big ticket for him to enter into the good book of producers. Amala Paul, however, is already flying high with offers from Tamil and other regional languages. The movie is being released this Friday all over.
