Reason for expectations: One of the promising directors of Tamil films, Ameer is not only known for his hard hitting movies but also for his laid back directorial style that lasts at least a couple of years. Similarly, Aadhi Bhagavan was in the production for about 3 years now. The movie also recently ran into a title controversy with a lawyer filing a suit alleging that the movie's title is derogatory for the Hindu religion and Gods. Ameer has overcome that hurdle and the movie is ready for release this weekend.
An action thriller, Aadhi Bhagavan has Jayam Ravi, Neetu Chandra, Sudha Chandran and Baby Anthony in lead roles. Ameer plays a cameo appearance in the film. The movie is recently certified A and Ameer and Ravi assured that it has no vulgarity and the A is only because of the stricter rules imposed by the censor board after the Viswaroopam fracas.
Aadhi Bhagavan was shot in various picturesque locales in Rajasthan and Goa in India and in Toronto and Ontario in Canada. Yuvan Shankar Raja's music is already a rage with 6 tracks on the album. Jayam Ravi is rumored to play the role of gangster while Neetu Chandra plays his love interest.
If it's in the league of Ameer's other movies, Aadhi Bhagavan is sure to win a chance at the box office. The grittiness of the movie is evident from the poster and if it retains its initial enthusiasm over its release, the movie will have good chance at the box office, thanks to the Ameer brand.
