Viswaroopam: What's the big fuss about the ladies?

Its been a while since Kamal’s magnum opus Viswaroopam was first announced. After the initial excitement which usually accompanies a Kamal project and a round of speculation about the director of the film died down, there has not been much news about the actual progress of the film.

Instead, we have been getting a regular feed of speculations about the leading ladies of the movie. The number of names that have gone around is one thing that is tough to keep track of. Of course, we do remember that it all started with Sonakshi Sinha being named
the first choice. But, she had to walk off due to date issues. Following this, there was a long period of waiting after which the names of Priya Anand (180 and Vamanan) and Isha Sharwani (Kisna fame) were finalized.

Now, the question is, what’s all the fuss about the heroine? After all, isn’t this a Kamal film and isn’t all the news and buzz supposed to be around what his role is going to be? Well, there are reasons for this frenzy around the heroine of Viswaroopam. It is being said that the script for Viswaroopam has been written in such a way that the female lead is as important as the male. In fact, Kamal is rumored to be doing a full length negative role in the film and that the heroine might actually be the lead protagonist. Well, if that is the case, then shouldn’t more experienced names in the fray. Instead, we have the relatively inexperienced Priya and Isha. Let’s see how well they face the challenge and grab the opportunity.
