The star kids, waiting for launch

Aspiring actors from the star households are not new to Tamil cinema. They always have an edge over others, what with their parent’s influence and other benefits their lineage brings them. Not immuned to that trend, Tamil cinema and its audience have always been receptive about the star kids. Looks like a lot many of them are waiting in the wings, waiting to be launched to test the waters.
 
Talks about Maniratnam launching Karthik’s son has been doing the rounds for quite some time now and if sources are to be believed, Goutham, his son, will be making his debut in Mani’s film. Although groundwork for the movie has only started now, it is reportedly a love story along the lines of his legendary hits Mouna Raagam and Alaipaayude.
 
Another notable star kid on the block is Simbhu’s brother, TR’s youngest son Kuralarasan. His debut film will be directed by father TR, who promises it will be a village love story. “Something that I have never attempted in my career,” adds his father.
 
If captain is busy in the assembly, the lady captain is wasting no time in finalizing scripts and listening to stories for her son Shanmugapandiyan’s launch in the movies. Seems the captain has instructed the movie to be a love and action entertainer.
 
Mayilsamy’s son Anbu’s debut film Paarthom Pazhaginom is ready for release soon. The movie is more or less over and is directed by Rasu Maduravan. Director Boopathy Pandian’s brother will be launched very soon in his own direction.
 
Vadivelu is leaving no stone unturned to launch his son. There are rumors that the earlier ruling party promised to help in every way and that was why Vadivelu undertook the campaigning activities. No updates on that one as yet.
 
Be that as it may, as long as Tamil cinema gets new performers who don’t merely harp hopes on their lineage to lift their careers, they are welcome!
