Why Ajith idolizes Rajini?

There are a huge number of Rajni fans all over the world. But, what makes Rajni so special is that it is not just audiences that follow him; even people who are huge stars in their own right are self- confessed Rajnikanth fans. Noted amongst them is Ajith, who has always made evident his admiration and respect for the Superstar.

The reason behind this admiration, which has also made way for a strong friendship, is not the usual star-fan thing. Rajnikanth has reportedly helped out Ajith during a very tough time of his career. For the full story, we have to go back to the period when Ajith was still involved in Naan Kadavul. He had agreed to be part of the project and had also accepted an advance from the producer. But, as things turned out, Ajith had to walk out of the project and what followed was immense pressure on him to return the advance amount in almost no time.

Left with very few options, Ajith had to approach a financier for help. The financier readily helped Ajith out, but that was not enough. For this he had to approach another financier who also expressed his willingness to help, but under one condition; a phone call from Rajnikanth asking him to help out Ajith. Knowing Superstar’s benevolence, Ajith went to him straightaway and told him about all that had happened. Much to his shock, Superstar refused to make the call; instead he offered to help Ajith out himself. The rest, as they say is history.

The story of the strong bond that Ajith and Rajnikanth seem to share can be traced back to this point. And, that’s what is behind their friendship. It might have started out over money, but we believe it is not just about money, it is a lot more.
